Should Space Really be the Final Frontier?

Science is all well and good, but certain areas of this field really do need putting into perspective. After all, some things are far less of a burning issue than others. For example; why exactly do you think it is that our governments place so great an importance on space exploration? It may be that there are many exciting new worlds to discover out there, but we still have so many problems of our own to address. And I’m not talking about finding the cheapest central heating oil suppliers either!
